Californian Artist María Rangel Cardenas | Original Sacred Art, Landscapes and Floral Art
by María Rangel Cardenas
Hello! My name is María, and I am so happy to be here to share my art with you.
I grew up in Anaheim, California—the second oldest of 9 children. I was homeschooled and attended the Latin Novus Ordo Mass every Sunday with the Norbertines at St. Michael’s Abbey in Silverado, CA. (Everyone should check out their beautiful new church full of beautiful art).
I graduated from Thomas Aquinas College (Great Books Program) as well as from the Laguna College of Art and Design (Fine Arts)—which is fitting, since I love truth and beauty!
I also spent a semester at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy—which still feels like a wonderful dream.
After working as a professional artist for a while, with my art studio and students, I got married and started a family with the love of my life. Then, I happily became a little hermit cherishing the sweet moments of motherhood with our four children and my husband.
But it seems that it is time for me to dust off my paintbrushes, begin drawing and painting again, and even explore new things (hello, surface pattern design!)
We live in Southern California (San Bernardino County), and now our youngest is 5 years old, and I have a little more time to myself—though I am still homeschooling and a stay-at-home mom. So, really, there is never a dull moment!

Thank you for reading my first art blog post!
